About Us

Learning Sciences International (LSI) is the official partner of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and Wilkes University.

The partnership between LSI and PDE started in 2000 when LSI was selected as the sole provider of Act 48 (professional development) hours throughout Pennsylvania, on behalf of PDE. To meet the rigorous standards established by PDE, including research-based content with breadth and depth, LSI proposed the conversion of professional development content into credit-bearing courses. This prompted LSI to seek Wilkes University as a higher education partner.

Wilkes University enjoys a rich history and reputation built on the success of the Graduate Education Department’s broad teacher reach throughout Pennsylvania using their distributed delivery model, including face-to-face and online programs. Wilkes University and LSI share a common dedication to developing rigorous academic programs that foster intellectual and professional growth for continuous career development.
